Threatened mammal species

Colour represents
number of globally threatened mammal species in each country in 2000. Pie charts
represent the proportion of the mammal fauna assessed as threatened at the national
level in a small sample of countries. This is a highly generalised comparison
because of differences in status assessment methods. Note: to reduce ambiguity
Alaska (USA) has for the purposes of this map been assigned to the same class
as adjacent Canada rather than the conterminous USA.
